Nestled somewhere in the swampy waters between South Mississippi and South Louisiana, Bayou Apothecary is rooted in the rich, eclectic traditions of Southern herbalism and fueled by a deep passion for exploring the unknown. We believe that self-care should be a ritual, not a luxury, and our mission is to provide a safe space where individuals can explore metaphysical tools, healing crystals, and spiritual resources to support their mind, body, and soul.

All wares are thoughtfully handmade by bayou-born women+ who care deeply about our environment, so we use natural, locally sourced, or recycled materials at every opportunity. Meet The Witches

Meadow, descended from ten generations of Cajun bloodlines on the Gulf Coast, is the founder and conjure woman behind Bayou Apothecary. A true bayou witch, she walks closely with the spirits of the land, harvesting many of her magical ingredients from the wild earth, moss-draped waters, and hidden corners of the South that have long whispered their secrets to her family line. Every spell jar, witch ball, ritual oil, and sacred salt blend is crafted by her hand and guided by intuition, ancestral wisdom, and old Southern folk magic. She also handmakes each piece of jewelry as a wearable talisman infused with intention and spirit. Beyond the apothecary, Meadow is a full-time PhD student devoted to the study of Southern literature, where folklore, storytelling, hauntings, and ancestral memory intertwine with her magical practice. In all her work at Bayou Apothecary, she weaves together scholarship, tradition, and mysticism to create offerings rooted in the spirit of the bayou.

Hailing from the misty mountains of Appalachia, Moose brings the spirit of Appalachian folk magic to Bayou Apothecary, blending mountain wisdom with the wild mysticism of the Gulf Coast. Holding a Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology, she carries a deep understanding of the natural world, from mountain forests to saltwater marshes, blending science, folklore, and intuition into her work within the apothecary. Rooted in old traditions and guided by an intuitive connection to both earth and sea, she helps weave together the energies of mountain hollers and saltwater tides into the heart of the apothecary’s creations. Her knowledge of saltwater ecosystems and natural coastal rhythms adds another layer of magic to the bayou-inspired wares crafted within the shop. Within the apothecary, she works diligently behind the scenes assembling magical wares, dreaming up new product ideas, and helping shape the creative vision of Bayou Apothecary. Through her touch, mountain folk magic and Gulf Coast conjure intertwine, creating offerings rooted in both earth and sea.

As a witch born in the 308-year-old city of New Orleans area, D brings a touch of old-world mysticism to Bayou Apothecary, carrying the spirit of old traditions, quiet intuition, and enduring magic into the heart of the apothecary. Grounded, resilient, and deeply insightful, she helps weave intention and energy into the work that happens behind the scenes. Within the apothecary, D helps assemble magical wares and lends her creative eye to Bayou Apothecary’s social media presence, helping share the spirit and story of the shop with the wider world. Her presence is both steady and luminous: a balance of strength, brilliance, and quiet magic that leaves its mark on everything she touches. D helps carry forward the mysticism, beauty, and soul that lives within Bayou Apothecary.
